NAATI/PTE

The NAATI (National standards and certifying authority for translators and interpreters in Australia) CCL tests a candidate's ability to transfer the meaning of a conversation from English to a LOTE (Language Other Than English).

High professional standards for the translating and interpreting sector are set, maintained, and promoted by NAATI.

Online NAATI CCL examinations are given Monday through Friday during the week.

The timing for all tests is Canberra time.
The exam includes two recordings of the conversation. Each exchange has a natural English speaker speaking with a native speaker of a different language (LOTE).
Roughly half of the dialogues are in English and half are in LOTE, and each dialogue is about 300 words long. The word count for each conversation section is 35 or less.

Business, consumer affairs, finance, education, employment, health, legal issues, community, immigration/settlement, housing, insurance, and social services are just a few examples of possible topics. Your evaluation will be based on the test's outcomes. Following the completion of marking, NAATI will keep the recording.
